Workshops: OPC UA / IBH Link UA - S5 / S7 PLC - STEP® 5 / STEP® 7

We provide On-Site Training Classes.

Workshop OPC UA with IBH Link UA by IBHsoftec GmbH

Our courses are aimed primarily at users in the areas of operation, maintenance and commissioning. Knowledge about the configuration of the IBH OPC UA, on the machine level, with the freely available IBH OPC UA Editor or the original Siemens programming software STEP® 7 or TIA Portal® is provided. 

S5 / S7 Training

The training class will focus on Maintenance Tasks and Expanded PLC Programming using the
S5 /S7 for Windows® or the Siemens STEP® 7 programming system.

For the training purposes a software PLC will be installed on each computer (IBHsoftec S5 or S7 SoftPLC). A visualization system (In-Touch® by Wonderware®) will also be installed to simulate the inputs and outputs of PLC data (switches, lamps etc.). The instructor will need Administration rights to be able install the required Software.

Customers Responsibility’s

The customer will be expected to provide a class room equipped with an overhead projector and a "Beamer" for presentations and demonstrations. Each student should have a PC to use during the training class equipped with Windows (exact operating system on request).

The On-Site training provided by Trans Tech International. Training Class Materials for each student will be provided.

STEP® 5 Expanded Training with S5 for Windows®

Target Group:

The training is tailored for employees responsible for maintenance of S5 PLC’s on the shop floor. Basic skills in the
STEP® 5 programming language will be taught to enable an employee to analyze and find S5 PLC related problems,
correct existing programs or generate new PLC programs. The participants will learn the layout and function of Simatic
S5 PLC. They will configure and start up an S5 PLC. They will become familiar with the standardized PLC structure and
corresponding programs. They will recognize the differences between the various block types and program designs.
They will be able to diagnosis quickly and implement fixes as needed. All these skills will be reinforced by
programming exercises.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of a PC and automation systems.

Topics covered:

•   S5 for Windows® System Overview.
•   PLC program structure using STEP® 5.
•   S5 for Windows® Tools to generate, troubleshoot and to test PLC Programs.
•   S5 for Windows® Online functions.
•   Data Blocks and Data Types; Function Blocks.
•   Indirect addressing; Substitution Statements.
•   Analog value processing.

Exercises to reinforce what is learned will be available for each subject. The workstations (PC) provieded by the customer can be equipped with the required software. In addition to the programming software S5 for Windows® a Software PLC, (compatible to the S5 CPU 945) is installed as a training tool to be programmed with the STEP® 5 language. To display and manipulate the data from the Software PLC (lights, switches, etc.) the visualization software “In-Touch® by Wonderware®” is installed.
Extensive course documentation is given out to the participant.

STEP® 7 Expanded Training with S7 for Windows®

Target Group:

The training is tailored for employees responsible for maintenance of S7 PLC’s on the shop floor. Basic skills in the STEP 7 programming language will be taught to enable an employee to analyze and find S7 PLC related problems, correct existing programs or generate new PLC programs. The participants will learn the layout and function of Simatic S7 PLC. They will configure and start up an S7 PLC. They will become familiar with the standardized PLC structure and corresponding programs. They will recognize the differences between the various block types and program designs. They will be able to diagnosis quickly and implement fixes as needed. All these skills will be reinforced by programming exercises.

•   Hardware Configuration and setup of modules
•   Analog value processing

The workstations (PC) provieded by the customer can be equipped with the required software. In addition to the programming software S7 for Windows® a Software PLC, (compatible to the S7 CPU 416) is installed as a training tool to be programmed with the STEP® 7 language. To display and manipulate the data from the Software PLC (lights, switches, etc.) the visualization software “In-Touch® by Wonderware®” is installed.
